Catalog Description
Voltage, current, resistance and power measuring instruments, signal generators, oscilloscope. Experiments on resistive circuits, first and second order RLC circuits, opamp circuits.
Course Objectives

The main goal of this course is to provide the basic concepts of measurement techniques and equipment used in electrical and electronics experiments. It is also aimed to give experimental verification of results and conclusions drawn during EE 201 Circuit Theory I course.

Software Usage

MATLAB and LTspice®

Course Learning Outcomes

Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
(1) Get hands-on with workshop tasks (such as soldering, wiring, data collection using basic measurement equipment, operating electrical engineering equipment, etc.),
(2) Measure basic circuit concepts, such as voltage, current, and power by using experimental setups and measurement equipment.
(3) Perform experiments on resistive circuits,
(4) Perform experiments on basic opamp circuits,
(5) Perform experiments on first and second order circuits and calculate time-constants for RC, RL, and RLC circuits,
(6) Interpret experimental data and relate it to the theory,
(7) Use software tools (such as LTSpice, Matlab) to aid in analyzing electrical circuits,
(8) Display a professional commitment to group work,
(9) Exercise technical writing skills through reports.
