This course is designed to enable students practice their translation skills through the study of terms, concepts, and theories of translation studies. The course is organized in the form of workshops so as to encourage the gradual building of independence, time management, and communicative skills. Each of these elements will be integral to the production of viable translations.
Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
1.Define the key terms and concepts of translation studies,
2.Translate a wide range of selected texts from various disciplines,
3.Use translation methods and strategies when approaching text in context,
4.Solve specific structural and lexical problems encountered in translation processes.
