. By the end of this course, students are expected
• to become familiar with the fundamentals of some of the most prominent motivational theories, including Self-Determination Theory, Achievement Motivation, Attribution Theory, Expectancy-Value models, Self-Regulatory Focus, and Social motivation.
• to understand how each of them explains certain aspects of human behavior and emotion.
• to know where these motivations theories converge and in what ways they differ
• to identify the implications for practice and future research by critically
evaluating each of them
• to apply this knowledge to their own special area of interest.
1. Understand the fundamentals of human cognition, emotion, and behavior
2. Critically evaluate of various assumptions and research outcomes
3. Visualize how current knowledge could be applied in various domains (e.g., in families, schools, organizations, sports, etc.)
4. Think of new research that could aim to address unanswered questions
