An overview of modern motivational theories and how they explain human cognition, affect, and behavior
Course Objectives

. By the end of this course, students are expected
• to become familiar with the fundamentals of some of the most prominent motivational theories, including Self-Determination Theory, Achievement Motivation, Attribution Theory, Expectancy-Value models, Self-Regulatory Focus, and Social motivation.
• to understand how each of them explains certain aspects of human behavior and emotion.
• to know where these motivations theories converge and in what ways they differ
• to identify the implications for practice and future research by critically
evaluating each of them
• to apply this knowledge to their own special area of interest.
