Course Objectives

The aim of this course is to make students get ready for teaching practice. 

Course Learning Outcomes

Upon completion of this course, the student should be able to:

  1. Plan appropriate mathematics learning experiences
  2. Demonstrate knowledge of elementary and middle school mathematics curriculum
  3. Demonstrate knowledge of middle school student pprofile in practice
  4. Demonstrate ability to facilitate learning during free choice, structured, learning center activities, and group activities
  5. Utilize developmentally appropriate instructional strategies to teach mathematics
  6. Integrate interdisciplinary perspectives to mathematics teaching
  7. Interact effectively with elementary and middle school children
  8. Demonstrate ability to show respect for individual and cultural differences
  9. Collaborate, as a mathematics teacher, effectively with colleagues and community
  10. Employ multiple assessment techniques to monitor learning and instruction in an elementary and middle school setting
  11. Document children’s development and learning experiences in an elementary and middle school setting
  12. Apply professional and ethical guidelines to elementary and middle school mathematics teaching
