Upon completion of this course, the student should be able to:
- Plan appropriate mathematics learning experiences
- Demonstrate knowledge of elementary and middle school mathematics curriculum
- Demonstrate knowledge of middle school student pprofile in practice
- Demonstrate ability to facilitate learning during free choice, structured, learning center activities, and group activities
- Utilize developmentally appropriate instructional strategies to teach mathematics
- Integrate interdisciplinary perspectives to mathematics teaching
- Interact effectively with elementary and middle school children
- Demonstrate ability to show respect for individual and cultural differences
- Collaborate, as a mathematics teacher, effectively with colleagues and community
