Safety Regulations on the Campus - Practices Implemented against COVID-19

Following aspects are to be considered while using campus facilities and adopting measures against COVID-19. Click here for the operating hours table of campus facilities.

Campus Entrance

  • Student entrance to the campus has been restricted except for education activities and administrative requirements. 
  • During COVID-19 pandemic, pedestrian entrance will be available through the security point at the main building and the entrance at Aksu Street only.
  • You must be wearing a mask when entering the campus.
  • Forehead or wrist temperature will be measured at the entrance using contactless scanners.
  • Indefinite HES Code will be checked at the gate. Visitors/suppliers are to fill in a health information form.

Venues for Education and Research

  • Statements issued by the Council of Higher Education on the process of education and training are to be followed during COVID-19 pandemic.
  • In case of face-to-face classes, the number of participants is determined according to the figures reported by the official authorities considering the square area of the room.
  • Physical distance must be maintained during classes those cannot be held remotely due to the particular contents of the course. Participants are required to observe related markings in the venues for education and research.
  • Rooms to be used for education and research purposes must be ventilated frequently during the day.
  • Before and after the educational activities, all participants must wash their hands and / or use hand sanitizers.
  • Personal items (bags, coats, scarves, berets, etc.) should be left in convenient places in the room so that the physical distance can be maintained.
  • During face-to-face education period, the instructors and attendees must be wearing a surgical mask. In cases where close contact is required, additional measures (shelters or laboratory goggles) must be taken.
  • If any of the participants have symptoms or feel unwell, they must not be able to attend the class. If this occurs during the class, Health Center will be informed immediately.
  • In case of the intensive use of rooms, the frequency of sanitation will also be increased, and the areas will be cleaned before and after each educational session, in addition to the routine cleaning.

Offices and Workspaces

  • In open offices or in workspaces where multiple people work, employees must be wearing face masks during working hours.
  • Offices must be naturally ventilated often.
  • When entering to and from the offices contact with other people must be avoided and doors must be kept open if possible
  • Restrictions must be imposed on meetings with visitors and suppliers. When it is necessary to confer with other people, this must be held in a separate area, and maintaining the physical distance.
  • Hands must be sanitized before using common equipment such as printers, etc.
  • Personal waste bins in offices cannot be used to dispose of masks, gloves, etc. that are used for personal precautions against COVID-19. Waste bins placed in common areas will be used for these materials.
  • All office equipment (including computer monitors, keyboards, mice, telephones, diaphones, microphones, control panels, buttons, etc.) should be disinfected and reserved for personal use only.

Common Spaces

  • You are required to wear a face mask in all common spaces on the campus (hallways, toilets, elevators, kitchens, resting rooms, smoking zones, campus yard, commercial zones, prayer room, parking lot, etc.)
  • You are requested to observe the notices and posters regarding the use of common spaces designated by the official authorities and the university.
  • It is not allowed to make changes in the current furbishing of common spaces.
  • Common spaces without natural ventilation (windows opening to outdoors) must not be used.
  • Use of elevators must be avoided if possible and when needed, only one person must be allowed on board at a time.

Catering Outlets

  • In order to avoid overcrowding before the start of the service, and to observe physical distance rules, outlets must be accessed during service hours only.
  • You are required to observe the ground markings during entrance and service in the catering outlets.
  • Hygiene and sanitation rules must be strictly observed in the catering outlets.
  • Material used in catering outlets must be disposed of in appropriate waste bins.

Venues for Sports and Activities

  • Venues for sports and activities are not currently operational due to COVID-19 pandemic.

Library Services

  • Ayşe Ilıcak Library will be open between 09:00 – 18:00 for borrowing and returning operations only.
  • You will be updated about the library services in line with the course of the pandemic.
