Academic reading, writing and presentation skills; analyzing and summarizing texts; synthesizing information from different sources.
Course Objectives

The main aim of this course is to help students improve their academic writing and presentation skills. The course is designed to teach students how to analyze and summarize texts within their field. Students will practice synthesizing information from different sources and incorporate information from sources to compose their own piece of writing. Students will read authentic texts related to their field to improve their reading and writing skills.

Course Learning Outcomes

Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to: 

1.Write a structured text clearly signaling main points and supporting details,

2.Write essays and give a written or oral summary in their field of specialization by synthesizing information from a number of sources,

3.Explain the use of numerical data in graphs and charts in an academic text,

4.Prepare presentations highlighting significant points with relevant supporting detail.
