This course aims to introduce students with the diverse design-relevant requirements and skills in various design activities, not covered by the core design curriculum, including awards, prizes, competitions, funding, or design registration applications. Students will investigate technical and conceptual outlines and specifications of various design projects, such as competitions, to understand the norms and standards of practice. They will then apply design skills to develop and present solutions following predefined specifications.
Upon successful completion of the course, the students will be able to:
- Describe the competitive design standards in national and international design projects
- Assess the design, detailing and presentation of the awarded design projects in various sectors
- Develop creative design solutions considering sector-specific material and manufacturing requirements
- Demonstrate professional design presentation skills
- Apply collaborative design skills within a team.
