Identification, definition, and formulation of a complex real-life industrial engineering problem in a manufacturing or service organization. System analysis. Conceptual systems design.
Course Objectives

The goal of this course is to expose students to a real-life industrial engineering problem observed in a manufacturing or service organization and to the initial phases of a system design. In this course, students identify and define an industrial engineering problem, analyze the current system, design the system and its architecture conceptually, and formulate models that help analyze and/or solve the problems.

Course Learning Outcomes

Upon succesful completion of this course, a student will be able to
1. Define an industrial engineering problem,
2. Analyze current system by collecting and interpreting data,
3. Generate a conceptual system design and architecture,
4. Formulate models to describe and improve current system,
5. Undertake a functional role in the team work,
