Risk and return concept. Financial valuation applications. Capital budgeting techniques. Analysis methods of investment projects. Capital structure. Weighted average cost of capital. Dividend policy.
Course Objectives

The main objective of this course is to apply fundamental financial valuation techniques in making financial managerial decisions such as capital budgeting, capital structure, and dividend payout policy.

Course Learning Outcomes

Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to;

  1. Identify the key elements of the financial decisions and their links to the financial system,
  2. Evaluate the role and purpose of the financial management function,
  3. Value financial instruments and real investments using spread sheets,
  4. Apply capital budgeting techniques and risk analysis to make a managerial decision,
  5. Describe the measurements and implications of risk and return,
  6. Calculate weighted average cost of capital and risk adjustment.
