Cinema and politics. Political ideologies and films. State and power in cinema. War and propaganda in cinema. Individual, society, and authority in cinema. Inequality and discrimination in cinema. Migration and cinema. Media and politics.
Course Objectives

This course aims to engage students with socio-political issues through films, which can also be defined as visual narratives. The course aims to explore cinema as an essential medium for observing the relationship between art and politics, emphasizing its historical function in circulating political ideologies, framing political debates, and shaping the policy agendaConsequently, this course will analyze and discuss basic political concepts, ideologies, and processes through their depiction in the major works in political cinema.

Course Learning Outcomes

Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:

1.Examine main concepts, models, and theories of political science and international relations that explain the most significant problems in social and political life,

2.Analyze social and political events and processes through cinematic narratives,
