Catalog Description
Description of sociology and its branches. Description of educational sociology its content and the process of socialization. Social functions of education, alienation and education, social mobility and education, migration, globalization and their effects on education. School, school and environment relationship, school and violance as a social system.
Course Learning Outcomes
Upon succesful completion of this course, a student will be able to
1. Sosyoloji ile ilgili temel kavramları kendi ifadelerini kullanarak yorumlayacak
2. Sosyolojik düşünmenin ("sociological imagination") ne olduğuna ilişkin kendi tanımını oluşturacak
3. Eğitim ve toplumsal tabakalaşma arasındaki ilişkinin çözümlemesini yapacak
4. Türkiye ve dünyadan seçtiği iki eğitim reformu hareketi arasında karşılaştırma yapacak
5. Kendi seçtiği bir okul örneği çerçevesinde Türkiye'deki eğitim sisteminin çok boyutlu sosyolojik çözümlemesini yapacak
