This course will provide students with a fundamental understanding of the characteristics and behavior of groups and organizations. Students will be acquainted with contemporary perspectives on how organizations act and how organizations impact the actions of organizational members and vice versa. Finally, the course provides comprehensive understanding of modern, symbolic, and postmodern perspectives on organizations.
Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to
1. Apply content and process theories of motivation to explain and improve employee performance and workforce effectiveness,
2. Demonstrate effective teamwork skills by participating in-group activities and solving business problems collaboratively,
3. Describe how power, politics, and culture can be used to influence employee behavior and accomplish organizational goals,
4. Analyze organizational behavior problems,
5. Explain cross-cultural differences in organizational behavior concepts and workplace processes.
