Course Objectives

This course aims to explain the process of identifying market opportunities and clarifying steps that are necessary while starting a new business. Topics include value proposition, legal procedures, entrepreneurial ethics and the business plan.

Course Learning Outcomes

Upon succesful completion of this course, a student will be able to
1. Develop an understanding of the importance of entrepreneurship in society and the different forms of entrepreneurial activity
2. Become familiar with entrepreneurial career paths and be able to evaluate whether entrepreneurship is right for them
3. Explain the new venture creation process and the life cycle of a newventure from idea development and launch through growth and various exit strategies
4. Evaluate business plans, sources of capital, marketing and distribution strategies, operations, organization issues, as well as key legal and ethical considerations affecting entrepreneurial ventures
5. Improve their analytical skills: thinking, problem solving, and decision-making
6. Develop their creative capacities in, e.g., idea generation, writing, and performing.
