Catalog Description
Fundamentals of business development. Market access modes for female entrepreneurs. Gender-based entrepreneurship development methods and policies. Women’s role in society as entrepreneurs.
Course Objectives
This course aims to explain the fundamentals of business development and market access policies for female entrepreneurs. Gender-based entrepreneurship development methods and policies are studied. Women’s role in society as entrepreneurs is discussed with the help of case analyses and examples.
Software Usage
Students will use MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Access, Powerpoint) to work on their weekly assignments about 2 hours a week.

Upon succesful completion of this course, a student will be able to
1. Define minority entrepreneurship and women’s entrepreneurship
2. Explain the philosophical and theoretical bases of women’s entrepreneurship
3. Understand the legal, historical social, and political factors that help explain women’s entrepreneurship
4. Begin to identify and unpack the roles of sexism, racism, xenophobia, and poverty in women’s entrepreneurship
5. Identify ways in which public policies can be modified to support women entrepreneurship
