Catalog Description
Basic concepts of leadership. Motivation from the management perspective. Basic leadership and motivation theories. Applicability of these theories to management practices.
Course Objectives

The main objective of this course is to analyze basic concepts of leadership and motivation from a management perspective.

Software Usage
Students will use MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Access, Powerpoint) to work on their weekly assignments about 2 hours a week.
Course Learning Outcomes

Upon succesful completion of this course, a student will be able to
1. Define the basic concepts of leadership and motivation from a management perspective
2. Recognize the importance of the interaction between the leader, the followers and the situation
3. Identify the leadership traits, behaviors and skills
4. Describe the vital role leadership skills play on the performance of the groups
5. Discover the contingency theories of leadership
