Catalog Description
Supply chain concept. Planning and coordinating. Centralized and decentralized planning. Supply chain optimization. Managing and controlling. Inventories and logistics strategies. Life cycle costing.
Course Objectives
The main aim of this course is to introduce the components of a supply chain and principles of supply chain management. The students will learn to analyze the supply chain problems in a systematic perspective and experiment to use the mathematical and statistical tools they have learned to solve these problems. Many cases will be discussed and analyzed.
Software Usage
Students will experiment supply chain games and simulations.

Upon succesful completion of this course, a student will be able to
1. Discover supply chain systems, its components, objectives and interests of all components and need for a customer oriented and systematic approach
2. Define the importance of information sharing and collaboration
3. Identify the managerial problems in a supply chain and importance of using analytical tools
4. Develop the ability to use to define, decompose, model, formulate and solve real life problems
5. Discuss the role of information systems for competitive advantage
