Catalog Description
Putting all the skills and knowledge acquired throughout undergraduate studies into practice. Creating a professional teacher portfolio (content of the portfolio: developmentally appropriate teaching activities, samples of instructional plans, evidence that shows appropriate primary education learning environment design, samples of work related to school, family and community relationships, samples of assessment activities, evidence of participation in professional development activities). Presentation of this professional portfolio.
Course Objectives
Student teachers will be synthesize learning acquired throughout the primary education program and articulate their own perspective of primary education.
Course Learning Outcomes
Upon succesful completion of this course, a student will be able to:
1. develop a professional portfolio documenting understanding of the teaching competencies for primary teachers
2. synthesize learning acquired throughout the primary education program.
3. articulate their own perspective of primary education
4. reflect on personal and professional development throughout the primary education program
5. create a personal philosophy statement in regards to primary teaching
6. evaluate an action research project conducted during student teaching experience
