Catalog Description
Early childhood field experience with children ages between zero and five. Instructional planning. Design of early childhood learning environment. Working as an assistant teacher. Assessment of children’s learning. Parent involvement. Early childhood professional development activities. (The language of instruction in this course is both Turkish and English)
Course Objectives
The course leads the students to realize their roles as a professional, criticize themselves and let them use ways to develop both professionally and personally.

Upon succesful completion of this course, a student will be able to
1. exemplify the roles of early childhood education professionals
2. review curriculum for preschoolers
3. plan developmentally appropriate activities for preschoolers
4. employ variety of developmentally appropriate instructional approaches, strategies and tools in in preschool settingsg
5. use multiple assessment techniques to monitor learning and instruction in preschool settings
6. evaluate how teachers involve families in their children’s development and learning
7. reflect upon their own experience in working with preschoolers
8. engage in personal and professional development activities
