Catalog Description
Study of the tense and aspect structure of the Turkish verb system and its semantics. Words and phrases. Sentence types in Turkish: simple sentence, compound clauses, if-clauses, coordinate and subordinate clauses. Word and sentence analysis in a variety of texts. Determinate article structure in Turkish. Noun phrase structure and its properties. Textual studies such as selecting level appropriate texts and the analysis of their internal and external structures.
Course Objectives

This course aims to enhance students to understand word formation and phrasal structure for Turkish.

Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to;

2. Formulate basic knowledge related to Turkish,

3. Determine phonetic features of Turkish,

4. Define grammatical and basic issues in Turkish,

5. Identify word phrases and different types of words,

6. Analyze roots and prefixes-suffixes of words,

7. Apply punctuation and spelling rules,

8. Evaluate difficulty level in terms of age groups while choosing texts.
