Catalog Description

Definitions of the concept of social skill, its dimensions and the relationships among those dimensions; developing students’ social skills and related methods and techniques; identifying target social skills; analyzing the social skill, modeling the social skill, helping students role-play and imitate the social skill; assessment and evaluation of social skills; generalizing social skills and examining primary school curricula; identifying exemplary social skills and applying sample activities.

Course Learning Outcomes

Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:

1. Discuss the definitions of the concept of social skill.
2. Analyze the relationship among the dimensions of the concept of social skill.
3. Identify target social skills for students to develop.
4. Apply the essential methods and techniques in developing students’ social skills and generalizing them.
5. Develop exemplary activities fot developing students’ social skills and generalizing them.
6. Assess and evaluate students’ social skills.
7. Analyze primary school curricula in terms of generalizing social skills.
