Catalog Description
School counseling and consultation services, consultation principles and techniques; implementation of consultation services for families and teachers, analyzing efficacy research related to consultation services, cooperation with administration.
Course Objectives
The main purpose of the course is to introduce the consultant role of the school counselor. The course includes developing some consultation strategies for the teachers and parents/families.
Course Learning Outcomes
1. consider assuming the consultant role of the school counselor
2. to identify the principles and qualities for professional consultation
3. develop consultation strategies for working with teachers and families
4. be able to dealing with cases regarding consultation in schools
5.be aware of developing collaborative strategies with school management and other mental health service providers around the school
