Catalog Description
Motor development and its characteristics. Development of movement skills. Improvement of physical skills. Relation of play and movement. Motor development stages. Arrangement of learning environments of motor development. Implementation and evaluation of movement activities of early childhood settings.
Course Objectives
The aim of the course is to provide information about characteristics, development, stages, implementation of motor activities. It also aims at how to arrange the environment for physical activities besides the evaluation of physical development.
Course Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
- define motor development stages,
- evaluate the relation between play and movement,
- compare motor skills in different ages,
- prepare suitable environments for play and movement,
- apply early childhood plays and movement activities.
