Course Objectives

The aim of this course is to provide students with a basic understanding of educational drama and its place in foreign language teaching. Within the scope of the course, the students will engage in the selection, adaptation and implementation of various drama-oriented activities for foreign language classroom and use different techniques to evaluate the teaching of English through drama-oriented activities.  

Course Learning Outcomes

Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:

 

  1. distinguish the characteristics of educational and creative drama, 
  2. recognize the benefits of drama in foreign language teaching,
  3. design drama-oriented activities appropriate to students’ levels,
  4. implement drama-oriented activities in the classroom,
  5. evaluate individually-prepared drama activities and those designed by peers.
