The history of teaching Turkish as a foreign language. Basic concepts in teaching Turkish as a foreign language. Program for teaching Turkish as a foreign language. Foreign language teaching methods. Common European Framework. European Language Portfolio. Learning environments. Event design according to language levels. Interculturality. Problems encountered in teaching Turkish as a foreign language.
Course Objectives

This course aims to enable students to gain the competence to adopt the conceptual framework and put it into practice in teaching Turkish as a foreign language.

Course Learning Outcomes

Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:

 

  1. apply an intercultural approach in teaching Turkish as a foreign language,
  2. compare foreign language teaching methods,
  3. design teaching processes based on the Common European Framework,
  4. evaluate the difference between teaching Turkish as a foreign language and teaching Turkish as a mother tongue,
  5. produce solutions for the problems that may be encountered in teaching Turkish as a foreign language.
