Catalog Description
Visual arts and craft education in mental and emotional aspects. Level of development of students according to the steps of graphical development. Children's picture reading. Love of visual arts and to express themselves through art. Art events in the context of art history, art criticism and aesthetic disciplines. Differentiation in visual, auditory and tactile perception. Learning with art field and development of creativity.
Course Objectives
This course aims to support students to recognize the functions of visual arts and craft education in mental and emotional aspects, to determine the development of students. It introduces art education applications including painting, drawing, sculpture, printmaking, ceramics, video art and photography. The course further aims to design learning environments in which students will be able to discuss visual arts and express themselves through art craft.

Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
- identify different approaches to teaching elementary art and craft,
- design lesson plans on art education applications including painting, drawing, sculpture, printmaking, ceramics, video art and photography,
- employ teaching methods of art for students with different learning skills and styles,
- analyze children's drawings,
- examine research about art materials,
- design learning environments in which students will be able to express themselves through art and craft.
