Catalog Description
Special educational institutions. Observation at Special Education Institutions. School culture. Organizational structure of schools. Educational environments, children with special needs (including gifted children) and teachers in special education institutions.
Course Objectives
This course aims to make students become familiar with educational relations, students with special needs (including gifted children) teachers, and the concept of special educational institutions. To this end, the course enables prospective teachers to experience the organizational structure of special educational institutions and acquire the essential knowledge and skills for special education.
Course Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
1. describe the educational activities and learning environments in special educational institutions,
2. differentiate the organizational structures between traditional schools and special educational institutions,
3. analyze the developmental needs of children with special needs (including gifted children),
4. analyze the individualized daily plans and learning activities,
5. propose developmentally appropriate learning activities with students with special needs
