This course aims to provide an overview of the main terminology in environmental psychology. The course will facilitate students’ synthesis of knowledge in developing conceptual ideas for interior design. Furthermore, the course enables students’ use these conceptual contexts (personal space, privacy, and crowd) in designing interior environments.
Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
1. Categorize behavior in spaces through environmental psychology,
2. Analyze human behavior and attitudes in different environments,
3. Identify different attitudes in design such as personal space, privacy and crowd,
4. Discuss interior design solutions in relation to theories of environmental psychology.
