Catalog Description
Introduction to interior design historiography. Theory, texts by scholars who have an important role in the creation of conceptualization and interpretation of basic concepts and perspectives in interior design.
Course Objectives

The course enables students to impart the different theories and theorists that have influenced and impacted interior architecture throughout history. It aims to give a sense of grounding and navigation in interior architecture history. The course also encourages students to explore the historiography of interior architecture with theories and texts by pioneer scholars in the field of interior architecture.

Course Learning Outcomes

Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:

1. Recognize important historical and contemporary approaches which influenced interior architecture theory,

2. Discuss various theories and texts from literature of design history,

3. Analyze conceptualization and interpretation of basic theories in interior architecture,

4. Assess the evolution of different theories in the field of interior architecture on a historical timeline to evaluate their impact and importance,

5. Investigate the physical expression of design theories in interior environments.
