Catalog Description
Assessment tools used in education and their characteristics; assessment tools based on traditional approaches: written examinations, short- answer exams, true-false type tests, multiple choice tests, matching tests, oral examinations; tools for multi-faceted recognition of students: observation, interview, performance assessment, student portfolio, research papers, research projects, peer evaluation, self- evaluation, attitude scales; points to be considered in the evaluation of student success; evaluation of learning outcomes and grading.
Course Objectives

The aim of this course is to provide students deep understanding of assesment issues regarding classroom learning. By looking from several aspects, students will analyze the appropriate use of different assessment  tools for specific purposes. Including grading and evaluation of learning outcomes, students will have a chance to elaborate on several issues related to evaluation of learning process.

2. Examine assessment tools based on traditional approaches and their characteristics.

3. Analyze assessment tool for recognizing students from different aspects.

4. Compare advantages and disadvantages of preparing and using different assessment tools.

5. Discuss the importance of including students in evaluation process.

6. Collaborate on effectiveness of assessment tools for different purposes.

7. Elaborate on points to be considered in the evaluation process of success of students.

8. Interpret evaluation of learning outcomes.

9. Discuss on grading isues.
