This course provides an overview of the tools, methods and processes that are required to develop and analyze business strategy of an organization. From the perspective of top-level management, organization’s resources and competencies are identified. Considering internal resources and the macro environmental conditions, suitable business strategies are discussed.
Upon succesful completion of this course, students will be able to
1. Analyze the impact and influence that the macro environment has on an
organization and its business strategies,
2. Assess an organization’s internal environment and capabilities,
3. Apply the outcomes of an analysis, using an appropriate strategic management tool, in a given market sector,
4. Develop a strategic management plan in an organization, informed by models, theories, and concepts, to achieve competitive advantage in a given market sector.
