Catalog Description
Differences between young language learners and adult learners. Myths about very young language learners. Theories for teaching languages to very young learners. Language methodologies for very young language learners (visual, auditory, and kinesthetic) and strategies (e.g., meta- cognitive, cognitive, and socio-affective). Vocabulary teaching activities. Different teaching techniques (e.g., puzzle, story, play, and simulation). Audio-visual tool design (e.g., picture, realia, caricatures, puppets and songs). Material selection and adaptation. Evaluation of teaching very young learners.
Course Objectives

The aim of the course is to indicate age factor in learning a foreign language and how the needs of very young children should be satisfied with various materials to accelerate their learning.
