This course aims to enable students to discuss the basic concepts in child psychology. It aims to help students analyze the history of child psychology. It is designed to develop students’ knowledge, skills, and attitudes to discuss the main approaches/methods in child psychology. The goal is to enhance students’ growth in analyzing the characteristics of different stages of development such as prenatal, infancy, early childhood, middle childhood periods. The course also aims to encourage students to evaluate the child within family structure and school structure. It is designed to advance students’ knowledge and attitudes to discuss the adaptation and behavior problems in childhood. Lastly, the course aims to develop students’ awareness about students with special needs.
Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
- discuss the basic concepts in child psychology,
- analyze the history of child psychology,
- discuss the main approaches/methods in child psychology,
- analyze the characteristics of different stages of development,
- evaluate the child within family and school structure,
- discuss the adaptation and behavior problems in childhood,
- develop awareness about students with special needs.
