Observation and practices on micro level regarding the design of mathematics learning environments under the supervision of mentor teachers. Assistant teacher role. Assessment of students’ learning. Parent-teacher relations. Professional development activities of teacher.

The aim of this course is to engage students in teaching and learning experiences in real school setting, reflecting on those experiences.

Upon completion of this course, the student will be able to:

  1. exemplify the roles of mathematics education professionals,
  2. plan on micro level for appropriate activities for middle school mathematics lessons,
  3. evaluate how teachers involve families in their children’s development and learning,

  5. perform reflection on experience in working with middle school students.
