Catalog Description
General characteristics of teaching profession. Concept of professional development in teaching profession and its extent. Adult education, life-long learning, and their characteristics. Models of professional development in teaching. Influencing factors of professional development in teaching.
Course Objectives
This course aims to make the students have an in-depth understanding of what professional development in teaching means and its extent. Furthermore, the prospective teachers will internalize its importance and intend to apply in their professional life.

Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
1. define the general characteristics of teaching profession and the concept of professional development in teaching,
2. describe adult education, lifelong learning, and their characteristics,
3. identify the models of professional development in teaching,
