Catalog Description
New and different counseling approaches and models, concepts, principles and techniques that form the basis of these approaches and models; to have knowledge about conceptualizing and evaluating the problems of the client in the context of the subject approach and model, and sample applications.
Course Objectives
The course provides an overview of and introduction to the contemporary and postmodern approaches and models in couseling and therapy.

1. define the use of old therapy schools in contemporary practice of counseling and therapy
2. summarize the principles of contemporary counseling and therapy approaches
3. have perspective to consider postmodern understanding of counseling in various issues of contemporary world
4. conceptualize common cases encountered in the educational settings in the context of the contemporary approaches
5. deals with the techniques introduced by several contemporary counseling models.
