Definition and characteristics of museum. Exhibition in museums. Museum education. Methods in museum education. Learning in a museum. Types of museum. Development of Turkish museology. A general overview of the history of museology in the world. The relationship between museum, art, culture, and civilization. Museum and art education. Museum and society. The contribution of museums to historical awareness. Protecting historical artifacts. Modern museology in the world and Turkey.

This course aims to equip students with the knowledge of the place and the importance of museum education and the development of Turkish and world museology.
