Proof and justification. Validity and reliability of the implications. Logical generalizations and inferences. Mathematical patterns and connections. Strategies for reasoning. Argumentation. Estimation strategies. Reasoning and proof activities in middle school mathematics teaching.

Course Objectives

The aim of this course is to enable students to deepen their knowledge of reasoning strategies and proof and learn how to use these acquisitions in teaching middle school mathematics.
